This edition of Meet the Team introduces Julie Middleton. Julie is our Director of Administration and Client Management.

Q: Tell us about your role

A: I do a little of everything. When I’m not handling administrative tasks I assist with support and testing.

Q: What is your favorite Ventures Lending Technologies software feature and why?

A: Although it is fairly new, Payment Tracking is my favorite feature of Ventures+. There is great need for tracking payment information and our system’s flexibility allows users to use it in the best way they see fit. The team has put in so much time into this area so it is rewarding to hear all the positive feedback from users.

Q: Describe the Ventures Lending Technologies team in 3 words.

A: Dedicated. Knowledgeable. Supportive.

Q: What were you doing before you came to Ventures Lending Technologies?

A: I was the head of Anchor Commercial Services, competing software to Ventures. In 2017, after 29 years I decided it was time to merge with Ventures. It was a great decision as it provided all my clients the ability to be on leading technology with web-based lending.

Q: What is the best part of your job?

A: I love the variety of tasks that I do. I’m never bored and never run out of things to do. On the support side, I love being able to help clients become more efficient as they learn the system.

Q: What are your thoughts on technology and how it can help lenders achieve better relationships with small business owners?

A: Technology allows lenders to be able to lend quicker and more efficiently. Our goal is to continue to provide more tools, one of which is the Apply+ which will provide borrowers with the ability to apply online.

Q: What inspires you? Julie Middleton and family

A: My children, watching them enter adulthood pushes me to be better as I am their role model.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: I love spending time with my family and traveling. My youngest is a high school senior playing travel softball. I love watching her play.

Q: If you had unlimited resources, what would you do?

A: Travel and make sure that my children and future grandchildren were financially secure. I would also love to provide funding for better mental health services including drug addition.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

A: I have yet to go to Paris. I had promised my older daughter that I would take her when she was 12, but instead we had another baby. I guess I should’ve named her Paris (LOL).

Julie and Husband

Q: If you could be any athlete for a single game, who would you be and why?

A: Simone Biles. As a child I would pretend I was a gymnast but I never got beyond a cartwheel and a roundoff. It would be pretty awesome to do all the incredible flips she does.

Q: When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A: A mother and a secretary because I thought typing looked fun.

Q: If you could instantly obtain any skill or talent, what would it be and why?

A: Powers to see heaven. After losing my husband a year and half ago, I have so many questions and wish I could visit him.
